Fonio is the smallest grain in the millet family, and said to be the oldest natural grain cultivated and grown in Africa.

You can cook Fonio just like you will cook Quinoa or Couscous.

How to cook

Combine 1 part Fonio and 2 parts water with a pinch of salt and a splash of oil and bring to a boil. Cover and turn the heat down to low for 1-2 minutes. Turn the heat off and let it rest for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork and enjoy! Alternatively, microwave on high for just 5 minutes.
